Experience
A proven history of service

It's no wonder that John Chaix is a construction defect specialist. He was educated and gained experience in the field even before he attended law school. His involvement in this area of the law goes back to the birthplace of construction defect litigation: San Diego. The rise of "common interest developments" in the late 70s and early 80s in Southern California added a new dimension to "product liability." John was part of this legal evolution 16 years ago, which is why he is a leader in the field today. At industry forums, he is a frequent speaker. And, he serves as part of advisory boards that shape state and local standards for construction defect litigation.

Upon graduating from Western State University School of Law in San Diego (1990), John practiced with several construction defect firms throughout Southern and Northern California. During this time, he was entrusted with opening several new offices in Southern California and Arizona that exclusively represented homeowners and homeowners associations with construction defects. In 1998, John recognized the need for a new kind of construction defect practice - one based on a more personal approach to make homeowners feel comfortable with a complex process. Encouraged by a loyal following of clients and colleagues, he opened his firm that year with offices in Orange County, California, and Maricopa County, Arizona. The rest is history: a history devoted to protecting the rights of homeowners and their associations with construction defects.

John and his wife, Michelle, share time between homes in Phoenix, Arizona and Newport Beach, California.
